GET teeth wearing out twice as quick since we moved pits

Shifted off a limestone quarry onto a granite one back in June. Same loader, same crew, same tooth brand. We used to get about 700 hours a set and now we are lucky to reach 350.

I expected them to drop off some but not by half. Is that just granite for you, or should I be chasing a tooth profile built for abrasion instead of penetration?

Honestly that sounds about normal for granite. Penetration teeth in abrasive stone wear off the flanks rather than dulling at the tip, so they vanish quickly.

Move to a heavy abrasion profile and run sidebar protectors with it. You will lose a touch of breakout but you should climb back toward 600 hours.
